DREAM

DREAM was photographed in 2017 with model Bianca Mae. It was the first project publicly shared on Instagram when Jason and Mike launched NEGATIVS. At the time, Jason and Mike were inspired by dream pop music. We were interested in how we could transform colorful synths and sonic atmospheric textures into soft, glittery, pop visuals. The focus was to utilize new visual techniques we had not used before, to effectively take us out of our comfort zones. We used unconventional methods to achieve our results via special camera lens filters, lighting gels, various editing processes, and more.

This project was also an opportunity for us to learn how to creative direct in the moment. We worked with Bianca many times before, so walking into this collaboration was a familiar space for all of us. This allowed us to be open to the possibilities, while we had fun challenging each other and creating together.
